AAC-Sanctioned Trial

August 24, 2008: We are proud to announce our First Annual AAC-Sanctioned Agility Trial (click here for our official trial website) with Lynda Yielding as judge on Sunday, August 24, 2008! Lynda Yielding will also be judging the AAC Nationals competition this year, so to have her is an honour for our club! The trial will consist of 8 runs (4 standard, 4 games), all at Starters level. It will be held at the Mt. Pearl Track & Field. Registration is now open, and registrations must be received by Ina Melbourne (Trial Secretary) by August 1st, 2008.  If you have any questions in the meantime, you may contact the Trial Chairperson, Angie West.

NADA, Inc. Agility Fun Trials

Sunday, December 7 at 2:00pm-5:00pm: There will be a fun trial held on December 7th from 2:00-5:00pm. Registration is to be made to Ina Melbourne (Trial Secretary) by December 1st.

August 3, 2008: We had a total of 20 dogs participate in the fun trial. The fun trial was a great success and the dogs did a great job (as did the handlers). Thanks to all the volunteers, trial committee, judges (Angie West, Ina Melbourne, Steph Conway, Aimee Surprenant and Dianne Ford), and to the participants for making the afternoon go smoothly! The following are the results from the fun trial.

October 21, 2007: We had a successful fun trial on October 21, 2007 (slide show) ! Thanks go to Jennie Murphy for judging the event, and to all the volunteers who made the day go smoothly ! The results were as follows:

There are no fun trials scheduled at this time.

Workshops

Sunday, October 19th 2:00pm-5:00pm (Reading & Running Lines): Dianne Ford will be instructing a workshop on Reading and Running Lines in agility.  This is a dog-less workshop and participants will run each other as handler and dog teams.  We will also be reading lines on paper and discussing the benefits and challenges for different approaches/lines.  COST: $25/participant; $10/auditing.  Registration due October 18th to Deborah Glassman.

Sunday, October 26th 2:00pm-5:00pm (Criteria Training: Based on Susan Garrett’s One-Jump Video): Dianne Ford will be instructing a workshop on foundations in agility.  There will be substantial floor work and work with a single jump. Participants are a handler/dog team and will practice the exercises in the workshop; auditors are not to bring dogs to the ring. COST: $25/participant; $10/auditing.  Registration due October 31 to Deborah Glassman.  NOTE: THIS WORKSHOP HAS BEEN CHANGED TO SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 1 AT 3:00-6:00PM.

Sunday, November 2 at 2:00pm-5:00pm (Foundations Training: Based on Susan Garrett’s One-Jump Video): Dianne Ford will be instructing a workshop on foundations in agility.  There will be substantial floor work and work with a single jump.  We will also work the 2-on-2-off contact work and start to proof for participants whose dogs are ready. Participants are a handler/dog team and will practice the exercises in the workshop; auditors are not to bring dogs to the ring. COST: $25/participant; $10/auditing.  Registration due October 31 to Deborah Glassman. 

Sunday, November 9 at 2:00pm-5:00pm (Flyball Instructor’s Workshop): Steph Conway will be moderating a workshop on flyball instruction. COST: is dependent on location. Please inform Steph Conway if you are planning on attending. Registration is free.

Sunday, November 30 at 2:00pm-5:00pm (Intermediate Agility Instructors’ Workshop): This workshop has been cancelled – registrants are being contacted for refunds.
