AAC REGIONALS AGILITY WORKSHOP WITH RICK WHITING – Saturday, July 17, 2010

Come and learn about AAC Regionals! Rick Whiting is an AAC Masters judge who has successfully competed in Regionals and Nationals for AAC. The AAC Regionals are open to every dog that is registered to AAC – not just the Masters dogs! If you can earn the qualifying score at the Regionals, then you qualify for the AAC Nationals! Regionals include three classes, Standard, Jumpers and Gamblers. While the courses are Masters level, the rules are different to be more inclusive. The strategies and point system is also somewhat different from the usual AAC trials. If you are interested in learning about the Regionals and Nationals (either as a spectator, lover of the sport, or as a potential competitor), then this workshop is the one for you!

The workshop will cover the following. In the morning, Rick will do some classroom work on regionals for the scoring and rules, and then we’ll be doing some drill work. In the afternoon, he will do a gamblers seminar and discuss the major differences between regional’s and regular rules, we’ll run a few different gambles, then Rick will wrap up with a review of strategies and general review.

We are offering this workshop in order to prepare Newfoundland teams to potentially compete in the 2011 Regionals, and hopefully the 2011 Nationals which will be back in Atlantic Canada (a rare event). Participant spots will be offered first to those teams who intend to compete in the 2011 Regionals. However, those curious about this are welcome to register as auditors, or if space permits as participants.
