Fun with Rally: CARO Advanced and Versatility:

Fridays, 6:00-7:00pm, for 8 weeks, starting June 6th, with Lois Hammond

Prerequisite for this course is completion of Heeling Skills 2 or permission from the instructor.

This course will introduce students to the skills that are contained in CARO Advanced level courses. Each week there will be practice opportunities. At the advanced level, dogs normally work off-leash. They will also be working when other dogs are visible. In addition to Rally Advanced skills, dogs will also learn signs and skills related to Rally Versatility. Versatility courses will require dogs to work on the right side of the handler as well as the left. NADA rally and obedience programs have always encouraged handlers to work their dogs equally on both sides of the body for the sake of the dogs' balanced muscle development and health but now students will have an opportunity to use the skills they've learned or will learn on the right side in a trial. Finally handlers will continue to learn Working Class skills including: Distance Signals, Directed Jumping and Retrieve on Flat.
