Tuesday 5:30-7:00pm (4 weeks) with Dianne Ford. Classes will take place on June 2nd, June 9th, June 16th and June 23rd.

Prerequisites for this course: Dogs must be comfortable being crated, competent on all agility equipment (contacts and 6 weaves), and able to sequence at least 5-6 obstacles at a time. Dogs must be comfortable and capable of working in a group setting, and they must have a reliable recall and not interrupt other dogs who are working with their handlers.

Please note: The instructor requires accommodation of no incessant barking by dogs other than the working dog. Dogs that bark incessantly may be asked to wait outside the facility.

Over the four classes, handlers will be introduced to courses/sequences typically seen at an agility trial.  Rules and regulations will not be explicitly discussed as the focus will be on course memorization and handling sequences. Handlers will learn to identify the most efficient and safest path for their dog, then how to support their dog’s path via their own handling path. Courses will be rated UKI Beginner/Novice Level, which is somewhat similar to AAC Starters, CKC Novice-Intermediate Level. All equipment will be used in this course (including 6 weaves in some courses). Dogs will be working off leash in this class, and one dog will be working at a time. Dogs who are not working or the next dog up (warming up) must be created in the Zen Den or kept in the car.
